The Wonders of a 25lb Bag of Clay I was born on the East Coast of the United States of America, but was motivated and educated in the art galleries of London. The purchase of my first 25lb bag of clay and the feeling of the clay underneath my finger tips for the first time was mesmerizing. I knew then, there was no turning back. When working with clay and bronze, I use no frame of reference, model or image to create my works of art, only the reflections within my mind. My imagination and creative vision are the sole sources of inspiration for all that I render. As I work, the personality of each piece emerges. From the wax replica that forms the mold, to the casting of the molten bronze, to the final application of the patina, I am deeply involved. The creative process behind my bronze sculptures emanates from my head, heart and hands, simultaneously. I pour three months of labor and passion into each one of my sculptures. The pride and affection behind each piece is palpable; you can see and feel the care in each line, curve and detail. When finally one of my creations is complete, I embrace its uniqueness and individuality. After we are fully acquainted, I set it on a base and watch it come to life. As you regard my fine bronzes, you’ll come to understand too that my renditions retain the transfigurability of clay; they evolve into something new and different with each viewing. Carol Broll 2005
